Understanding the situation
Once a party holds a decision or instrument that the law treats as enforceable, and the other party does not comply voluntarily, the matter can move to execution. This stage focuses on compliance rather than on deciding who is right — that question has usually been settled by the earlier decision.

What typically happens
- 1The creditor submits an execution request with the enforceable document and supporting details.
- 2The debtor is notified and given an opportunity to comply, in accordance with the applicable procedure.
- 3If compliance does not follow, enforcement measures may be requested against reachable assets or income.
- 4Amounts recovered are accounted for against the outstanding sum until it is satisfied or the file is otherwise closed.

For debtors
- Respond to notifications; silence rarely improves the position.
- If you dispute the amount, raise it through the appropriate channel rather than informally.
- Where payment is possible, a documented plan may be preferable to enforcement measures.
