What it is

A legal notice is a formal letter sent to another party — an individual or a company — setting out a position, a demand or a concern, and often requesting a response or action within a stated period. It creates a written record that a matter was raised, which can be useful later if the dispute continues.

Legal notices are used across many situations in the UAE, including unpaid debts, contract disputes, tenancy issues, employment matters and disputes between business partners. The right tone, structure and level of detail depend on the underlying matter and what is intended to follow if there is no response.
